Cornwall club’s amazing weekend 


The Byrne Black Belt Academy competition squad Team Byrne were once again in action this weekend. 11 Members took part in a tough 3 hour Squad Training session in preparation for the ICO World Championships in France, the squad training session was taken by Multi World Champion and ICO Light Contact England Coach Neil Kelly in Birmingham on Sat 31st April all 11 were accepted and given a place on the England Team.

14 members competed the very next day 0n Sunday 1st May in Solihull, they competed for the Kwon British Championships, the team consisted of Novice, Intermediate and Advance fighter from Cornwall, they competed against some of the UK’s finest competitors. We were treated by fine displays from the whole team, solid performances by all.

The Cornish Team did exceptionally well and matched and beat the best of Britain.

Big shout out to Riley Bird St.Erth, Quinn Chamberlain Marazion and Kyle Gregory who fought really well, just missing out on the medal position but gained valuable experience.
